“At Thy word I will let down the nets!”

“And Simon answering said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at Thy word I will let down the net.”
Luke 5:5

Transcendent Faith

Faith transcends experience. The life of one who follows Jesus ought to be filled with His moments of inspiration. Times of weariness are interrupted by His interpositions of light and wonder.

Faith responds to His Word. Regardless of experience or circumstances, faith is the mover of hearts. Countless numbers claim to hold to a Christian belief; however, the crux of life comes to a faith that moves and inspires the heart.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
these are sons of God.”
Romans 8:14 (LITV)

Within the confines of a relationship with Him, this is a present-tense reality; His influence permeates our consciousness. There is a Presence that keeps our thought life pure, our attitudes aligned, and a press that keeps the heart longing for Him.

The great Shepherd of our souls seeks to make us “fishers of men.” I remain encouraged by His word:

“And Jesus said to them, Come after Me,
and I will make you to become fishers of men.”
Mark 1:17 (LITV)

One of my most-loved words in the New Testament is become. It carries with it a promise that, regardless of what I am, IF I follow Him, He will make me something above and beyond what I am by nature. The path to each of us becoming requires the ability to have faith, moving us through the circumstances of life.

Our experience may say:

“…we have toiled all the night,
and have taken nothing…”

Yet the wonder of faith moves us despite the experience.

Faith is the only means of pleasing God. Faith is the matrix of all our movements in His Will. Faith is the wind that launches our small vessel into the sea of His unlimited provisions. To hold to a belief in God in which life ceases to be an adventure is cause for seeking His counsel.

Living faith creates within us the anticipation that every day unfolds with the press of His hand: to touch the life of another, to learn of Him in the daily yoke of His Will. The life of becoming more like Him is the inspiration of life.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
Hebrews 11:6

Faith is the inspiration by which His deeds become the
shining forth of Him through the fragile earthen vessels
of His choosing.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

I had a dream the morning of 02/16/2025 where I was standing near a mountain range when suddenly a dragon landed in front of me. The dragon was huge, and he began spewing fire from his mouth at me. I remember holding up a shield in my left hand and, while small in comparison to the size of the dragon, protected me from his flame. In my right hand was a sword, which I pointed towards the dragon and saw him vanish as I did.

What I gather is that the dragon, Satan, or one of his minions, attacked my faith without any warning, hence the shield in my left hand. The sword in my right hand was the Word of God, and upon rebuking the dragon watched him vanish
