Strong Hope

“These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness,
the beginning of the creation of God”
Revelation 3:14

Strong Hope

Our hope is only as secure as that in which we place our hope. If our hope is in self, or some other transitory idea or person we will eventually be confounded. So many place their hope in a politician, a preacher, a cause, or an organization, only to be disillusioned in the end.

“Your fathers, where are they?
and the prophets, do they live forever?”
Zechariah 1:5

There is One who is eternal, unchanging, and whose very name is: THE AMEN. It is on this One we fix our hope in this crumbling world. The AMEN. The only One who can speak “so be it” over our lives amid failures, compromise, and discouragement.

“the faithful and true witness”

The AMEN is followed by another name: “the faithful and true witness”. The AMEN has power over our feeble hearts because HE is “faithful and true”. He did not falter on Calvary’s cruel cross. His power transformed the unreliable Peter into a humbler and wiser man. He calmed the raging seas. He has invited all humanity to come and rest in the One who cannot fail.

“the beginning of the creation of God”

We can but bow before Him at the sheer awe of His grace. He is the beginning of our call out of the darkness. He is the initiator of the power of a living faith by which our hope is steadfast and sure. This hope is our anchor in the darkening day which is upon us.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”
Philippians 1:6

He is the One who has begun a “good work” in us. He is the “beginning” of the New Creation Life imparted into the anemic nature of man.

Upon His shoulders God the Father has placed the governmental power of redemption and regeneration of all creation.

“His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end…”
Isaiah 9:6-7

It is in Him we place our trust. While the nations roar and men in their futile political endeavors attempt to “fix” society, there is but One hope of peace and security. His Name is Jesus.

“Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
Hebrews 7:25
