Hope and Security

“And thou shalt be secure,
because there is hope”
Job 11:18

Hope is the anchor and security of life in God, the assurance that He is at work in the human heart. Hope puts no confidence in things seen for it is a temperament of heart that is wholly dependent upon God. It is a strength when all else disappoints. It is a refuge in the storms of life. It holds us fast in the embrace of our Father’s love, steadies us in the shifting sands of life, and it keeps us moving onward in the path of faith.

Hope is the song of a captivated heart. It sets a goal before the pilgrim of faith whereby the obstacles in the path are viewed through the eyes of eternity.

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”
2 Corinthians 4:18

The power of hope enables us to accomplish God’s purpose in Him “apprehending” us. It sees through the vanity of mere belief and finds its joy in finishing the race well.

Hope is the anchor, the inspiration, and the fire that burns within His own.

“And every man that hath this hope in him
purifieth himself, even as He is pure”
1 John 3:3

Hope brings to the faithful heart this great promise of God:

“Hope maketh not ashamed”
Romans 5:5

Hope is the tenacity of faith.
