The Potency of Faith

“Now the just shall live by faith…”
Hebrews 10:38

Faith is how we touch the potency of His life in this world. It is not merely a “crutch” we resort to in an emergency. It is the conduit, the connection, to Him who is Life.

To know the power of His Life transacting with our own, through faith, is to be truly alive. There are resources beyond our own that carry us through the trials of life. This LIFE of faith reaches into the world around us because of the inspiration of the Christ within.

“Now the just shall live by faith…”
Hebrews 10:38

Justification is not a dull, religious word that describes a doctrinal position in God. It is the birth of His life within. The quality of our now life is determined by a faith that daily touches the “hem of His garment”.

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”
Romans 1:17

Faith is dynamic, and ever-changing, as the “righteousness of God” is progressively revealed in the life we live. May we consider afresh this incredible declaration: “for therein is the righteousness of God revealed”! Faith is how God’s righteousness is expressed in this world! Faith alone produces a righteous life. It is not a belief, a hope, or a teaching; it is the power of God moving in redeemed hearts.

From Faith Unto Faith

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed
from faith (un)to faith…”

May we glean much from His Word to us: “faith unto faith”. The progressive nature of faith brings an ever-increasing wonder in those who yield to its influence. It is one thing to have or hold a faith; it is another thing altogether to be carried along by it. The faith of the past is insufficient for the walk and adventures of today!

It is impossible to value too highly this miracle, this gift, which is the root of all the other gifts of God. We are exhorted to a depth of prayer by which faith is stoked within our own hearts.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith,
praying in the Holy Spirit…”
Jude 1:20
