The Morning Light

Prayer is the participation
of our hearts in the Presence of God

The highest call of life is one of relationship in Christ with God our Father. Effectual prayers ascend from hearts which His presence has subdued. It is from His glory whereby our hearts are made right to pray right.

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you,
ye shall ask what ye will,
and it shall be done unto you”
John 15:7

Abiding in Christ is the Spring from which effectual prayers are borne. Asking aright comes from our being right in our relationship with Him.

Prayer is the natural outflow of a life in a relationship with God. Jesus easily spent all night in prayer with the Father, for it was the basis of His relationship with His Father as a man. Jesus, in teaching His disciples to pray, began with the powerful words… “Our Father.” This endearing term becomes ours through the agency of our relationship with Christ Jesus.

“And this is life eternal,
that they might know Thee the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent”
John 17:3

The Morning Light

Mercies gained in the morning light of prayer become the fragrance that influences our sensitivity to Him for the remainder of the day before us.

“Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude
– an attitude of dependency, dependency upon God”

Could it be that many believers get caught up in the motions of the church without examining the whole purpose of the fellowship which Jesus came to restore between us and the Father?
Might we be oblivious to the presence of God withhout a clue about his desire to live among us?
    Just thinking.
    Blessings brother

Yes, indeed. The exercise of religiosity and churchianity are neither congruous nor complimentary with authentic Christian spirituality, constituted and celestially crafted by intimate, abiding love communion, the latter from which at John 15 Christ promises shall bear much Holy Spirit produced fruit, fruit that remains, fruit that glorifies as infinitely worthy the Father and the Son.

Throughout the New Covenant, we are richly reminded that apart from vital, conscious, and conscientious union with Christ we can do nothing of genuine value, zero, zilch, nada, absolutely nothing. Wholeheartedly I believe that the best we can do is behold the beauty and beneficence, the magnificence and munificence, the mercy and ministration of Christ Jesus, thus, as per 2 Corinthians 3:18, conforming to His character in increasing degrees of glory. And even that is not without our astute attention and our ardent affection graced as such by no less than Himself in dire, deepening dependence upon Himself.

      2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP
And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.

O our affectionate Abba Almighty, ever increase in us holy heart hunger to know and go with the Son of your love, the Author of life, by beholding and becoming more like Him until that perfect Day. Thank You, that You, Jesus, are our bright and Morningstar for each morning, and our Dayspring from high for the duration of every day, to express, manifest, and demonstrate exactly and exuberantly that, until we see You face to face, and know You even as we are known.

      1 Corinthians 13:12-13 AMP
… Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]. 13 And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.

      1 John 3:2-3 AMP
Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory]. 3 And everyone who has this hope [confidently placed] in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (holy, undefiled, guiltless).

So true, the distractions of the world and all the issues of the day are ever vying for our attention. That is why we need one another to keep our hearts “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…”
