The Arms of the Lord

“But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.”
Psalm 131:2

Safe in the Arms of the Lord

The other day while facing a difficult situation that was not humanly fixable, somewhere in the midst of things I experienced His Arms embracing me while this scripture was made alive in my heart.

There was a sense of my whole being embraced and the anxiety of the moment dissolving into a rest in Him. As a CEO I still had much to do, but the sharpness and the helplessness of the situation were greatly dissipated.

While these things are trivial in comparison to what our brothers and sisters face in other parts of the world it was never-the-less a powerful and comforting experience for me.

“Because Thou hast been my help,
therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice”
Psalm 63:7

David’s response to such Divine care…

“My soul followeth hard after Thee:
Thy right hand upholdeth me”
Psalm 63:8

Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

    I think we live in a type of chaos, but we know that there are no surprises to God. Though we are moved, he will never be moved. He always has our best interests at his heart, at his heart.

      It is all part of living in a broken world. “He was a man of sorrows… acquainted with grief…” and He has given us the privilege to learn of Him…
