Standing Firm
“Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth–el, and taught them how they should fear the Lord.”
2 Kings 17:28
How inspiring and significant are such verses! Amid all that was transpiring in Israel, God takes note of one who was faithful in that generation. The eyes of God saw one individual who made a difference in a bleak time. This should be encouraging for those who walk faithfully before Him.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him…”
2 Chronicles 16:9
Faithfulness to God comes from being cognizant that the “eyes of the Lord” are beholding all things. There is a sense of the fear of the Lord. That which is pleasing to others may not be so in the estimation of our God. This one priest, who was carried away in the upheaval of judgement, remained true to His God. He stood tall in his generation as one who taught others “the fear of the Lord” in a dark time.
Standing Firm
There is a lamp which burns bright in those who walk faithfully before God. Those who speak the truth when truth is no longer desired, when the traditions of men have robbed God’s word of its power and it no longer holds sway on the “reins” of their hearts.
“You are near in their mouth,
and far from their reins…”
Jeremiah 12:2 (LITV)
Will we be such a people in this day of apathy and carelessness? Will we be found true to His Word and His person? Will we hold forth the radiancy of He alone who is worthy? Will we be seen in His searching of our generation as He looks for those who honor Him?
A true and living faith understands He beholds the works of every man and is empowered to faithfully present His truth and His person to all who would hear.
“But ye, brethren,
be not weary in well doing”
2 Thessalonians 3:13
The rewards of faithful doing come at our journey’s end.
“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me,
to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Revelation 22:12

“Let us remember, there is One who daily records all we do for Him, and sees more beauty in His servants’ work than His servants do themselves… And then shall His faithful witnesses discover, to their wonder and surprise, that there never was a word spoken on their Master’s behalf, which does not receive a reward.”

It is most encouraging that we serve a living God who beholds us, loves us and seeks to prepare us for the day before us. Blessings to you.

Amen!!
Thanks for this. We need such words today when the world around seems determined to take down all that once seemed to stand for good and for God.
May His light arise in us even as the world grows dark. Thank you for the kind words brother.

Blessed word of encouragement. 2 Chronicles 16:9 is one of my favorite verses, truly it does help the true believer to remain faithful to the God who saved us…and faithful in all His Words and ways!
Thank you…Blessings today!

“Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.”
1 Kings 19:18
Hello brother, I remember reading of the darkness of Israel after their separation into two kingdoms, which northern kingdom was continually in idolatry throughout.
This verse came up in my spirit, which God said to Elijah after his complaint to God that he was the only one left.
Also, remember the prophet Micaiah in 2 Chronicles 18, a lone prophet who told Ahab that he would die in the coming battle.
Our world today is full of godlessness and spiritual darkness, and I agree that there is a need for those who are called to be lights in the world. Jesus told us that we are the light of the world, may we strive to shine bright.
God bless you, brother.
The faithful are few to speak the truth and to be true unto Him alone. The Day is coming, darkness is covering the earth and it is in these times we need to find in Him the grace to stand.
“Many are called but few are chosen” or May we as one Greek scholar translated it “Many are elected few are selected”. the great crisis for us today are we serving a church or are we serving Him who is the Lord of the Church.
May we be faithful to pray and seek out that true fellowship that sustains and purifies our walk with Him daily. Greatly appreciate your comments and prayers!
Be Blessed

Amen, and amen. Bless you, brother.
