PSALM 23 – PART 14 – CORRECTION AND GROWTH –

PSALM 23

PART FOURTEEN

CORRECTION AND GROWTH

“Thy Rod…comforts* me”
PSALM 23:4

Without correction and accountability personal growth and fruitfulness becomes stagnated and stunted. Men who refuse correction cease to grow and cease to live. Jesus said “every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit”. We see this truth so aptly revealed in the world around us. Everything concerning life needs to be channelled in order to have direction and purpose. A river without banks is a flood, electricity without a path and a purpose we call “static” and a believer in God who has no personal vision or “mark” (Philippians 3:14) is one who will be without discipline or purpose. A good landscaper prunes his garden that it may grow and become all that he has purposed and envisioned it to be when he planted it. Jesus said that His father was the Vinedresser and they that are of this Vine (Jesus) are to bear fruit that the Father may be glorified. Therefore Fruit is anything that pleases and glorifies the Father.

It is in us receiving of His correction that we grow in fruitfulness and the inherent ability to bring forth expressions of the Son to glorify the Father. Let us hear the admonition from God’s Word; “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights” (Proverbs 3:11 – 12) The proof of God’s Love and His ongoing investment into our lives is REVEALED IN HIS ROD. We read In the Old and New Testament of the evident Hand of God actively expressing His Love and correction in the lives of people; some were EXERCISED by it and others refused it with eternal consequences. Men who refuse correction choose a life that eventually comes to ruin. God’s Word has summed up this truth in one powerful verse…

“He who keeps instruction (Hebrew: correction) is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray”
PROVERBS 10:17

Does this not convey to us the reason behind the apostasy in our land today? Is there not a reason that the LOVE OF MANY has grown cold and indifferent? People are content to go through the motions of religion while failing to realize that we are here to BEAR FRUIT unto HIM who has called us out of darkness into HIS LIGHT that we might ever live to GLORIFY HIM.

God’s Word to HIS PEOPLE today is one of grave importance; one that reveals and lays bare the reason that we are in such disarray, impotence and apathy….

“I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets,
daily rising up early and sending them.
Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck…
This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God
NOR RECEIVE CORRECTION.
Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth”
JEREMIAH 7:25 – 28

It is a Day for us to turn, to receive correction and to be EXERCISED in it that we may come forth as Gold tried in the Fire; purified and freed from our own agendas to DO THE WILL OF HIM that there may be Glory and Honour in His House.

King David knew well the power of change and repentance found in the ministration of truth from others in His day and the fruit that comes from the receiving of it.

“Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness.
And let him rebuke me: It shall be as excellent oil;
Let my head not refuse it”
PSALM 141:5

“Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance,
baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession,
absolution without personal confession.
Cheap grace is grace without discipleship,
grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ”

THE PRAYER OF MOSES

~ THE PRAYER OF MOSES ~

“O Lord GOD, thou hast BEGUN to show thy servant thy greatness,
and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth,
that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?”
DEUTERONOMY 3:24

Moses prays this after nearly 120 years of seeing the mighty hand of God in Egypt and the Wilderness. Moses prays this after a life of speaking with God, at times face to face, seeing His Glory in all of the various ways throughout all of those years and yet he prays thus… “Thou hast BEGUN to show Thy servant Thy greatness”! Can we not see, can we not catch a glimpse of the infinite Glory of our God? Is there not the infinite call of God to our hearts to come up higher, to go deeper, to KNOW HIM AS HE IS? Is there not a realization of the little that we settle for; the CRY for relationship that goes beyond teachings, meetings and the common course of the present day “Christian Life”? Is there not within the deep recesses of our hearts the Cry of the Son to know and please the Father? Do we not feel the Cry of all creation longing for the “manifestation of the sons of God…?” (Romans 8:19) While men debate what the “manifestations” should be of those who have the infilling of the Holy Spirit Paul states in Romans…

“For we know that the whole creation
groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Not only they, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
eagerly waiting for the adoption,
the redemption of our body”
ROMANS 8:22 – 23

The manifestations of the firstfruits of the Spirit are revealed in a people who know this groaning and the longing for the full expression of the redemption that was purchased at Calvary! Where is that longing to see, to know and to be fully alive in CHRIST JESUS our Lord? To be satisfied with the status quo of today is an unthinkable state of existence. We see all around us those who are satisfied with state of the Church, who are content to walk within the confines of a doctrinal statement concerning righteousness; content with the impotence and benign expression of the Gospel of the Kingdom because of the lack of vision and the purpose to which the ONE CHURCH has been called. We read in Paul’s Epistle to the Church at Corinth that an unbeliever would walk into their midst and one would stand up and prophesy and the unbeliever would fall on his face because the very secrets of his heart would be revealed. Paul called that Church carnal because of the emulation of the different ministries and the setting of one ministry above another. WHAT WOULD HE SAY TO US IN OUR DAY?

Let us consider Gideon who was living in a time when the people of God were defeated . He was gathering a bit of grain hoping that the enemy would not come and take even that from him. Do we not see the same today where we are no longer affecting those around us but are in more of a survival mode hoping we do not lose the few that are left? In the midst of this God appears to a man; a man who has been gripped by the haunting burden of the cry of God within his own heart…

“O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?
And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying,
‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’
JUDGES 6:13

God is not afraid of men who question the present day experience… HE LOVES THEM and He comes with an answer. HE comes because of them! He comes because they have the cry for something greater, something real, vital and true. Is it not time for us to read the scriptures anew? Is it not time to stop reading them as some historical novel and begin to compare WHAT WAS to WHAT IS? Is it not time to begin to question what all of our “ways” and our “wisdom” has produced? Is it not a DAY to turn from the deadness of the programs, the teachings and the building up of men’s organizations and men’s ministries and return again to the seeking, knowing, and walking in the ways of God? If we do not see the contrast between the present day expression and His purposes it is time to “consider our ways”. Jesus told us to pray… “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, ON EARTH as it is in Heaven…” Should not that be more than some religious prayer but rather the CRY within our hearts and the purpose of our lives to see it be so?

It is a DAY to question; a DAY to seek afresh HIS FACE. For in the asking, the seeking and the knocking we HAVE A PROMISE THAT THE DOOR SHALL BE OPENED; a door that leads us into new places and reveals HIM in a fuller, deeper and richer way. That door will transform the present day Church into a precious bride that is pure, holy and righteous.

“I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel,
to do it for them”

AGELESS FAITH

~ AGELESS FAITH ~

“Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart,
Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old?”
GENESIS 17:17

Our God is Able! Our God is willing! Faith does not consider circumstance. Faith is not determined by what it sees; it is founded upon what it hears. I see many who by reason of age (it is also my own battle) begin to settle and weaken in the vitality and relevance of the vision and the hope we have in Jesus. We see indications of this all around us in the lack of our pursuit of HIM; the absence of fervency in our seeking of HIM. The grip of the living expectation of all that HE has promised becomes an ideal and a doctrine rather than the IMPULSE that propels us on to greater things in HIM.

The thought struck me the other day that no where do we read of the Kingdom of God coming to us while we sit in total passivity. Rather what we read about is the Kingdom of God being ENTERED into by faith, obedience and much trial and tribulation. The failure of one generation must not rob the next of God’s purpose and intent. It is a day to challenge, a day to exhort, and a day to summon up every last bit of resources we have to see this great purpose of God come to pass. Men have grown weary. They have settled for a vision that no longer inspires, invigorates or PRODUCES an ardent pursuit of God. We have settled for knowing about the Kingdom instead of ENTERING INTO the Kingdom. We have allowed age, experience and comfort to rob us of the ONE THING…

“Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God…”

It is time to awaken out of our slumber for the Day is upon us, the hour has come, and the Bridegroom stands at the door looking for a Bride who has made herself ready. The Church that has rediscovered that it is in fact the BODY OF CHRIST, it is ONE and it is HIS,  and it will no longer tolerate the secularization and division that has rendered her powerless and ineffective. It is time for the true ministry of God to minister out of a heart that desires that HE WOULD HAVE THE PRE-EMINENCE in our midst that men might see the Body of Christ come to the “unity of the FAITH”. It is time for the true ministers of the Grace of God to be caught up with the burden of the Lord that we would LOVE ONE ANOTHER IN THE SAME MEASURE, THE SAME PURITY AND THE SAME INTENSITY THAT THE FATHER HAS LOVED THE SON. For if that is the prayer and heart of Jesus (John 17) should not that same burden and purpose burn within our hearts?

“Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD. Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of MINE HOUSE that is waste, and ye run every man unto his OWN HOUSE

Until we are more concerned with HIS house than we are with “our” little fellowship, “our” church and “our” ministry we will not see the blessing and the power of God! As long as we are content with what is, the new will not come forth. As long as we are content with a gospel that is not breaking forth with power and reality, as long as we are content with relationships that are in ruins, until we are broken with the things that break the heart of God, we will not know HIS GLORY in our midst.

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD”

JOSEPH and BENJAMIN Part One

JOSEPH & BENJAMIN

PART ONE

“And it came to pass,
when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt,
their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food”
Genesis 43:2

There was a famine in the land. The famine was for a purpose. It was to end the separation of Jacob and his sons from Joseph (whom Jacob thought was dead). Joseph was in one place and they were in another. Jacob was content to stay where they were as long as they had provision. God’s purpose was to bring them to the source. This place of independence is not God’s ultimate design. We get our sermons and teachings so that we can sustain our way of living. We want provision so that we can maintain our independence and our “place” of abiding. God is only interested in a living expression called the Body of Christ. We hold on to our “teachers” and our “ministers” while living in independence from the Body of Christ around us. Not only is this a meagre existence, it also prevents the real edification that is ours by the local gathering and functioning of the Body of Christ. It keeps us from participating in the things of our Father with each other; from developing the very ministry that HE has called us unto; from realizing that my relationship with my brother is paramount in the seeing of His Face.

“And Judah spake unto him, saying,
The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying,
Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you”
Genesis 43:3

For Jacob’s part he must sacrifice the object of his greatest love. For his independence to die he had to give up that which was most dear to him. The thing that he clung to had to be released in order to realize God’s full revelation. Little did he realize that the Faith of Abraham must be lived out through each succeeding generation. Doctrines and teachings can pass without much cost, but real and vital faith must know true sacrifice. Abraham’s experience would not suffice for Jacob. Jacob must also offer the same sacrifice to know the same God. The famine had to be greater than Jacob’s resistance to hold back yet in the final relinquishing of his last love he found that God gave more than he could ever imagine. So too is it with each of us.

For Jacob’s sons part they would not see the face of Joseph until they were willing to sacrifice their lives for their brother Benjamin (Genesis 44:18 – 45:2). Joseph means, “He shall add”. As the early Church revealed the life and power of the risen Christ in their day, we too are standing on the brink of the coming forth of Benjamin, the Son of HIS RIGHT HAND! This Benjamin will require people who are willing to lay down their lives for each other that the Lord Jesus Christ himself may openly declare HIS presence in our midst. The sacrifice and faith required for the early church must once again be known by this generation. It is a day to repent of living APART from the people of God around us; a time to cease from a life of subsisting on a provision from somewhere else. The manna that sustained us in the wilderness is not designed for the Land of Promise! Let us lay down our lives that we might see the face of our beloved. It is for Benjamin that the Son is looking; it is to Benjamin that the fivefold portion is given. It is in loving one another, interacting with one another and praying for one another that we shall know of this Glory.

“Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love,
being of one accord, of one mind”

THE TWO VOICES

THE TWO VOICES

“Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon,
sit on the ground: there is no throne”
Isaiah 47:1

It is a day of the humbling of nations, a day in which authority will fail and, in the rejection of all that is right, just and holy, we will see the result of men’s choices. Every form of wickedness contains within itself the seeds of its own destruction.

“And he cried mightily with a strong VOICE, saying,
Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen,
and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit,
and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations
have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication,
and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies”
Revelation 18:2 -3

The man tormented by the legion lived in the graveyard; every living thing seeks out an environment in which it is comfortable. The reason Babylon is inhabited with devils, foul spirits, unclean and hateful birds is because there was provision made for them. In the rejection of the light and the choosing of darkness men provide a dwelling place for such things. God’s judgment is to simply give men over to their own ways (Romans 1:18 – 32). In the midst of the declaration that Babylon is fallen we hear “another voice” crying out…

“And I heard ANOTHER VOICE from heaven, saying,
Come out of her, my people,
that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues”
Revelation 18:4

It is the calling out of God’s people unto righteousness and a sanctified life. To be numbered as one of God’s people yet to remain in Babylon WILL NOT SAVE US from the judgments of our God! Positional truths will not circumvent an unrighteous life. If we partake of “her sins” we will most assuredly partake of “her plagues”.

“God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap”

That VOICE IS SPEAKING TODAY, calling out to the people of God to COME OUT and be separate unto our God. A separated life is an obedient life; not a life lived unto itself. It is a life poured out unto the development and raising up of the BODY OF CHRIST! It seeks (like Nehemiah) the welfare of the people of God. To live unto ourselves, to choose our own way and to secretly love the things of Sodom is to ultimately partake of its plagues.

“THY PROPHETS”?

“Thy Prophets”?

“Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee:
and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity…”
Lamentations 2:14

True ministry is primarily unto the Lord, not the people. The prophets described here focused on the people; they saw vain and foolish things because they were concerned about their acceptance and popularity. They had no concern for the actual spiritual condition of God’s house; their concern was for the attention of the people of God. These prophets are called “thy prophets”, not God’s, for their ministry is of the people to build up a particular assembly, ministry or organization, rather than HIS Lordship or HIS purposes in the earth. When this is so, there will never be a “discovery” of the iniquity of the people of God because true accountability is not popular. It is in the ministration of true accountability that the people of God are FREED from their captivity. True ministry ever seeks the freedom and liberty of God’s people. A false prophet’s or hireling’s only concern is to keep the people from scattering. Interestingly enough this was also the motive given for the building of the tower of Babel! Sadly God’s INHERITANCE is of little concern.

We are living in the days of the House of Eli. There was no real correction and the “ministry” of Hophni and Phinehas went unchecked until the very lamp of God went out in the tabernacle! It says of that day…

“And the word of the LORD was precious (rare) in those days;
there was no open vision (no vision breaking forth)”
1 Samuel 3:1

It is because men no longer contend for the purposes of God in this hour that we have come to such a condition. The eyes of Eli “waxed dim that he could not see” and it speaks later of the fact that he had grown fat. Is this not a true description of this hour? Apathy and neglect are seen across the land. A “seeker friendly” atmosphere can mean that sins and iniquities are not an issue and that if a person simply “believes” that is enough. We can hold on to our sins and have God with no contradiction!

This “House of Eli” is soon to pass way. A new priesthood is arising with a new heart; a heart that is fixed on HIM alone; a heart that desires that unto HIM will the gathering of the people be.

“The nature of Christ’s salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Saviour from Hell rather than a Saviour from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness”

INTERCESSORS ARISE!

Intercessors Arise!

It is a difficult hour in which we live as God is preparing to gather His people together again. In these trying times people have been scattered by the “horns of the gentiles” as spoken of in the book of Zechariah (Zech 1:18 – 21) There is a need to pray and seek the Lord to raise up the “craftsman” that Zechariah saw. This ministry will arise in the earth to undo the work of the four horns of the gentiles that has scattered the people of God. May the Lord put it upon your hearts to pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”; not natural Jerusalem which is of the earth, but that heavenly city that comes down from above crowned with the Glory and approval of the heavenly Bridegroom. Let us pray with all the passion within us to see this Body of Christ arise out of the shambles of man’s ways. Pray that the Lord would cleanse us from the selfishness of our hearts and that we would begin once again to walk in the passion of the Love of Jesus Christ. This is the only motivation that will bring forth a true ministry in the earth. May the Lord stoke the fires of your altars to do battle in the heavenlies as never before! Though you may feel out of sync with what is happening around you, rest assured, as you function in the ministry of intercession and prayer that you are in the very thick of the battle. Be encouraged to ‘press on in the purposes of God’, concerning the ministry that He has laid upon you. Even though with the natural eye you may behold chaos and disorder be assured that in the Spirit there are great things being accomplished. Remember Daniel who fasted and prayed for three weeks that God would arise; during those three weeks he saw nothing new. Yet when the angel of the Lord appeared he was given to understand the nature of the battle that had been waged in the spirit for those three weeks. We must not walk by sight but by faith and the understanding of God’s purposes. Pray that the Lord will ignite a new intensity in prayer that you have never known before. All of the ministries of God need prayer warriors in the body to enlarge their entrance into the precious things of God.

Remember also the word concerning Jael. She was faithful to the Lord and in the midst of all the battles taking place she slew the General of the enemies of Israel in her own living room. God will accomplish great things through His hidden warriors in the confines of their secret chambers. Be encouraged. Look unto the heavens and not on the things of the earth. May His Spirit birth within you a new sense of purpose in this day of preparation. Prior to every great move of His Spirit there has been a powerful ministration of intercession, prayer and praise unto our God.

May the Lord enable you to be a source of encouragement to others and be found with lamps burning as the midnight cry of the Bridegroom goes forth in an hour that many will miss.

HE IS ABLE PART ONE

HE IS ABLE PART ONE

“Blow ye the trumpet in the land:
cry, gather together, and say,
Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the
defenced cities (stronghold – Hebrew)”

Jeremiah 4:5

It is the DAY of the Trumpet; it is the DAY of Alarm. Who will hear and turn? The Trumpet is beginning to sound where even the careless are starting to feel the distant rumblings. The Word that is to be heard is one of assembling ourselves, not in the old form of meetings and programs but in the sense of the fear of the Lord with the intent of entering into the stronghold of our God. God’s people are to hear and respond to the Word going forth. The disillusionment of the past, the weariness of the present and the desire to ignore the things that are about to break forth are the enemies of responding to the Alarm.

“Ye that put far away the evil day…”
Amos 6:3

It is a day to gather ourselves together, to seek His Face, to shake off the slumber of a faith that has been dimmed in the obscurity of the day. It is a day to pour out our hearts unto Him who is able to kindle a new faith burning in the fire of a LOVE that will not be quenched; a love that compels the people of God to new depths of caring for one another in a fellowship of the Life and the Spirit of Jesus Christ. The dead bones of former things are indeed dead; men raising up edifices and programs to give themselves names as they sought to draw men to “their truths” while neglecting the simplicity of a Love that speaks “we are members one of another…”. It is a day to seek the welfare of our brothers and sisters; a day to reveal a love that melts the walls of division and sectarianism. It is a DAY for TRUTH to destroy false teachings, wrong concepts and immoral living; a ministration of the TRUTH that sets people free to live in the fear and the glory of our God without compromise.

In the midst of this call to assemble ourselves together there is much that would mock the thought of such a thing, but the Word of the Lord stands as a testimony to the hour in which we live and the dismal state of the Church. It is a DAY of apostasy, lukewarm and immoral living, broken families and decayed foundations. The God who brought creation and order out of a world that was formless and void can and will raise up a Church against which the gates of Hell will not stand. Why do we stand in our disbelief? Is this the Church that Jesus prayed about in John 17 where HE prays to the Father that the LOVE wherewith thou hast loved me might be in them… that the world may know…”? How can we read such things without daring to believe that HE IS ABLE!!! How do we accept this divided, segmented and fragmented present day expression as something that even dimly compares to the majestic prayer of the SON?

Faith is revealed in what we do. Faith is revealed in a people who walk, live and move in the power of the living God. It is a day to seek out and to become a part of this great assembling to our God. Truth and reality can only start in the heart of each individual. If it starts not in our hearts, in our day and in our community, rest assured others will rise to respond to the call of this day. This will be to our shame and our sorrow. Faith does not rest in what it sees; Faith rests in what it hears.

Jeremiah goes on to say…

“The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the gentiles
is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate;
and thy cities shall be laid waste, without inhabitant”

Jeremiah 4:7

These things are already set in motion. His hand will not be stayed. It is the DAY of the Lord. It is the day of sifting, the day where every man’s work will be revealed and the day of His Judgements. It is the day to turn from our ways; it is the day to depart from evil, and to turn with all of our hearts back unto Him. We have forsaken faith to walk in the wisdom of this world. We have gathered to ourselves riches and things while HIS house suffers the violence of kingdom builders. We have not considered the “ancient paths”. Rather we have forged “new” ideas and embraced the traditions of men instead of the leading of His Spirit. We have taught “our shepherds” and “our clergy” and have forgotten that unlearned fishermen and tax collectors were the vessels of choice in former days. So many sit in a pew not even aware of the precious gifts and ministries that have been entrusted to us to function in, that we might see the wealth and the wisdom of a Church that is living and pulsating in the purity and power of God.

It is a day to ASSEMBLE ourselves together unto our God. No longer meeting in the names of men, but gathering unto HIM in simplicity of FAITH, and in the intensity of a devotion that is birthed by the Love of God burning in our hearts. HE IS ABLE!

Lord, we pray that you will tear down the walls of unbelief, that you would cause us to ARISE and WALK in the call of this NEW DAY. Give us FAITH that is not affected by the things we see, but a FAITH that has fixed its eyes upon the ONE who said HE would Build this Church and that it would stand triumphant in His Power and His Love. We pray that you would so move by your Spirit that in this day we would be drawn into the LOVE of God that will unite us in a unity that will reveal the full power of your redemption for all to see. Amen

HE IS ABLE!

ARISING IN THE NIGHT!

ARISING IN THE NIGHT

”And I arose in the night”
Nehemiah 2:12

The test of faith is not only what we do in the times of light and blessing but how we respond in those times when we cannot see our way. Here we see a dark time for the people of God; the City of God was burned with fire, the gates destroyed, and rubble filled the streets. The enemy was strong in the Land and the oppressors kept diligent watch that there should be no rising up of the people of God.

Nehemiah had a call from God to see the City arise from the rubble. There was a cry in his heart for the City not for himself. The burden caused him to arise, the vision was strong upon him, his purpose was clear and his God was Great. He did not wait for others to “catch the vision”; he did not wait for the “conditions” to improve.  He arose to fulfill the cry of God in his heart.

True Vision produces DEEDS of FAITH. True vision brings us into the reality that our God is willing, able and faithful to provide substance and strength for the purpose for which we have been apprehended. While men linger in the night the tares are planted…

“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat”
Matthew 13:25

While men sleep the enemy sows deception and error; thoughts that sound right but destroy the truth of the seed that was planted. Excuses and reasons why we cannot arise, why the people of God should be content to just maintain the status quo while the City of God remains divided, weak and barren, are all tares sown in the night.

“The slothful man saith, there is a lion in the way…”
Proverbs 26:13

LET US ARISE even in the night to see HIS Glory once again covering, filling and empowering the Church of JESUS CHRIST. Let us arise, lay aside the seeking of our own prosperity, and find HIS heart to seek the welfare of the Children of God!

“God’s program for reviving His people is definite and clear. First Elijah repaired the altar of Jehovah that was thrown down. That is the place to begin. All the ruin that sin has wrought must be cleared away by confession. Things must be made right with God; restitution must be made where it is due. Unless this is done definitely and thoroughly, prayer for reviving is vain. Too many are praying today without repairing the altar by confession of sin, without digging a trench of separation from the world and without a surrender that is even unto death. No wonder such prayer is fruitless”

THE COMING FIRE OF HIS PRESENCE

THE COMING FIRE OF HIS PRESENCE

“The sinners in Zion are afraid;
fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.
Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire?
who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly…”

Isaiah 33:14 – 15

Gold and silver do not fear the fire for they are not consumed by it, only purified. It is not what we believe that matters; it is what we have become because of what we have believed. This is the DAY of the revelation of the “effect of every vision” (Ezekiel 12:23 – 25) in a man’s life. What we are right now is the culmination of our vision and our faithfulness to it. Every vision has an effect upon a man, and in this day these things are to be made bare.

Two men built a house; one on sand, the other on a rock. Both houses seemed strong, UNTIL the flood came. For the strength of a house is not in the house but in what it is built upon. One man’s house was built on hearing; the other man’s house was built on doing. In the day of ease everything seemed good for both, but it is the storm that reveals the foundation.

It is a time to gather together, a time to assemble for the trumpet is blowing; the four winds are soon to be released. This is the day of substance and reality. This is not a day to speak nice things; it is a day to edify, exhort, and admonish one another that we may be found as gold and silver. For His Presence is coming, His Glory is at Hand and woe be to those who are at ease in Zion; people who have understanding, yet do not realize the implications of this hour. We are at ease when we should be weeping between the porch and the altar seeking God to spare His People in this hour. In our daily lives we should so understand the “terror of the Lord” that we are seeking to persuade men of the time that is at hand. A people who are not content with their preparedness, BUT HAVE A HEART AND A CRY FOR HIS HOUSE, that she would be able to rise up and meet Him as a chaste virgin, pure, spotless and white.

THIS IS THE DAY OF DOING, NOT WAITING; THE DAY OF WALKING in the Love of God to reach out to those around us. It is a day for Love and compassion as we are gripped by HIS HEART for this world. Men who know their day are men who intercede, men who interact with their God to save the Lot’s of this world (Genesis 18:23 – 33); to seek out the hurting, the lost, the defiled and the broken. This is the faith that can and does rise up from its place of comfort to do of His good pleasure while it is yet Today.

Let us gather in true accountability, true desire to become; not to comfort one another in the status quo. “For he that doeth truth cometh to the light…” It is a day of doing truth, having our lives accountable that we might become pure as he is pure. It is in seeking to cover the hidden things that we will surely be consumed in the Holy Fire that will soon walk in our midst. This is the day of mercy, the day of opportunity to rise up and walk in forgiveness, in openness of heart and purity of soul. May the Lord stir us in this hour to turn from our present ways that we might be found in HIM with a righteousness that is able to “dwell with the everlasting burnings” of His presence.
