Humility and His Presence
Throughout David’s life, we see this recurring theme of him spending time in the Presence of the Lord. The child of God knows intuitively that God Himself is the true place of safety. There are ministrations of Life that can only be experienced in His magnificent Presence.
“Who am I, O Lord God”
His presence irradicates pride and the delusion of self. The truth of who He is reveals the truth of who we are. Humility is the fruit of those who touch the Presence of the Almighty God. There is ever a corresponding wonder in those who frequent His Presence and feel the incomprehensible condescension of Him in His care of us.
“what is man that You are mindful of him,
and the son of man that You care for him?”
Psalm 8:4
The truth of all that He is comes to those who, as David, “went in and sat before the Lord”. The posture of heart and temper of spirit will reveal our profound poverty as to the works of our hands and our standing in this life. All that we are becomes ashes in His Glory.
His Presence is our hiding place and our salvation.
“That no flesh should glory in His presence…”

Amen – His indwelling is in itself a revelation of His mercy.
Surrendered, spirit steeping and soul soaking in the Spirit, in serene times in secret places of our marvelous, magnificent meetings, are heavenly highlights. From such splendorous, strengthening solitude, we come away cheerfully changed, seeping Christ’s salvation and the Spirit’s sanctification to the glory of our ardent, affectionate, almighty Abba’s graciously grand giveness to ourselves for others.
