Fellowship and The Quest

“But it is good for me to draw near to God”
Psalm 73:28

The Love of God fuels the flame of faith (Galatians 5:6). Passion is revealed by the thing it covets.

“For where your treasure is,
there will your heart be also.”
Luke 12:34

There is something indefinable yet intrinsic when meeting with another child of God. It is the flame of desire, the intensity of spirit, not of human origin. It is through this flame that our spirits are connected, and the bonds of fellowship are realized.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another…”
1 John 1:7

Christ is the Author and the keeper of this flame. His passion is to become ours. His intensity of Spirit is the inheritance of the saints.

“I came to cast fire on the earth…”
Luke 12:49

The true purpose of fellowship is to intensify the flame of Him in each of us, to blow upon the coals of each other’s hearts as it were. It is to this end that we interact with and exhort one another. The flesh is weak and will ever seek compromise and rest in something other than the apprehension of Christ Himself. This compromise may be garmented in religious apparel and speak of good things, yet the underlying spiritual temper is one of complacency and unbelief.

Where there is no pursuit, quest, or compelling vitality of spirit, there is no life.

Oswald Chambers summed it up best:

“My goal is God Himself…”

Our personal overriding goal is to meet with others to stir the flame of desire for Him so that it may be constant, growing, and pure. To avoid exhortation, admonition, and the ministrations of life from others is to distance ourselves from Christ Himself.

“The words of the wise are like goads…”
Ecclesiastes 12:11

  • Amen, brother, God corrects those He loves, and we need it.

    • Does our Father in Heaven, every instance He chastens His child, cause the son or daughter to be conscious that the correction comes from Himself, rather than it being an unpleasant experience or horrendous incident He creates or allows to occur but is not a chastisement for willful wrongdoing, even though it, too, may afterward result in the peaceable fruit of righteousness?

      Romans 8:28 AMP
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

  • ““My goal is God Himself…” AMEN!
    Blessings today!

  • Nearer than the light embraces the flame,
than the waves intrinsically involve the sea,
than I am even to me, He Is, therefore, I am,
Shulamitefire, one spirit in vital, conscious union,
intimate, abiding, everlasting love communion with
the Eternal, the Almighty, the I Am of glory and grace.

    1 Corinthians 6:17
He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

    John 8:24
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

All who are the love sought, the blood-bought bride of Christ, being the mutual fire of divine desire, burning as one living flame for the fame of the claim of His Name above every name, are Shulamitefire.

    Song of Songs 6:3
My lover belongs to me, and I belong to Him [so says the Shulamite]. He moves among the lilies with His sheep.

Amen. May the light of our Lord shine on and through each of us as we fellowship and encourage one another. Blessings…

  • pcviii03 says:

“…And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ..”
    Hebrews 10:24-25

That is one of my special verses – difficult in our land as there is a resistance to works accompanying our faith in our land. May God use us to see this change.

Always appreciate the comments they align with the truth!
