He who is the Light of Life desires to shine within us and through us into the lives around us. It is our privilege to carry His wonder to all.

“Those who look to Him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
Psalm 34:5 (ESV)

There is light in none other. It is the Light of God shining forth in the face of Jesus Christ, whereby men and women are enlightened. The light of His life is what causes His people to arise out of the clutches of this world; its darkness, its ways, its offerings and temptations. In seeing Him, in beholding His countenance, we are lifted into heavenly places; the veil is parted, and we behold His Glory.

“…unto them that look for Him shall He appear…”
Hebrews 9:28

Looking implies dependence and expectation. We look for Him for He is our salvation. He is our comforter. He is the hope which makes us not ashamed to declare Him to the world and, more importantly, to one another. In seeing Him, the offences and rejection of friends and foes are dissipated.

“their faces shall never be ashamed”

In beholding Him, their hopes of life and godliness are renewed. The ability to rise from every circumstance and every failure is invigorated by the light of His pure wonder. Let us not shrink back because of life’s disappointments. Let us ever be renewed in the beauty and power of the Light that beckons us to higher and deeper things.

“Looking unto Jesus
the author and finisher of our faith”
Hebrews 12:2

Wherever His Light shines, so will the power of His Blood speak.

“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
1 John 1:7 (ESV)

“And these aspirations of the individual soul are also prophecies; by them the Spirit of Christ is signifying to us the hopes which are our inheritance; they come from the Light which lighteth every man. But their fulfilment is not reserved for others; they may be fulfilled to ourselves. All that we have vaguely desired is now offered us in the glorious gospel of the blessed God; in Christ, we become “His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works.”

    Is Your Light Shining?
I had a dream last night where I was taken to a home by a young blond-haired boy. I am not sure if the fact that the child’s blond hair stood out to me in the dream was significant or not. I remember going into the house and then came out and started up a steep path that was heavily wooded. At the base of the path there was a danger sign of a steep cliff ahead. When I got to the top I saw a lighthouse. The light holder in the lighthouse was turning but there was no light. I remember thinking that this would be extremely dangerous at night because one could fall to their death off the cliff let alone boats out at sea could crash and become shipwrecked because there was no light to warn them of impending danger. Across from the lighthouse a man was seated. I spoke to the man and came to find out that the house below as well as the lighthouse belonged to him. I asked him if the buildings were paid off and he replied yes. He did not seem to care that the light in the lighthouse was not functioning. He seemed quit comfortable sitting across from the lighthouse unlit.

The lighthouse in this dream represents ministry. His light had gone out and he was not concerned at all. His son brought me to the house but never mentioned the lighthouse. The man seemed totally unconcerned that his son’s life was being placed in danger because the light in the lighthouse had gone out. It is a frightening thing to be in darkness and not realize it or even worse to be in darkness and not care.

This dream spoke and is speaking volumes to me about my own life. A lighthouse with a nonworking light is worthless

Light bearers, keepers of the light, lamps to light the way.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

So must we be to those in darkness; to be the Word, to be the lamp, and a light in their paths.
    Blessings Brian.
