A Dream Given

“Sometime in 1989 through a dream which was like a movie with only 2 moving scenes.

Scene 1 opens in a large room where there are many people walking around and visiting with one another, each carrying a plate of food from which they are eating.  As I observed the people I noticed a small, bitty bird flitting from plate to plate attempting to get something to eat.

Scene 2 opens in a kitchen where I observed a plate of left overs sitting on the counter next to the sink.  The bitty bird was attempting to feed from this plate, however the bird slipped and fell into the sink, into the jaws of the garbage disposal.

In this dream I felt (literally) great fear for this bitty bird, and I carefully reached my hand into the disposal to lift the bird to safety, all the while keeping my eyes fastened upon the disposal switch on the wall which if engaged would turn on the disposal destroying the bitty bird.

That was the end of the dream.  I have pondered that dream many times over many years and although I knew from the outset what that dream was speaking of, it seems as if that understanding has increased each time.  The fear that I experienced during that dream was tangible and remains with me to this day.

The interpretation

Those people weren’t doing anything wrong.  They were having a pot luck meal or some such gathering as happens all the time.  But this is speaking directly to the Church.

This gathering had no substance which is evidenced by the starving bird and lack of interest or concern of anyone in that gathering.

That speaks to the lukewarm Church who are nonchalant in their gatherings/meetings, enjoying their time with friends and family, having no fire and no fear of the Lord, just fulfilling their supposed obligation by being in attendance.  They are feeding from their pot luck assortment of doctrines and ideas which have sprung up from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.  There is no good in that tree, by the way.

In their midst however, there are young in the Lord who are hungry for more than easy greasy doctrines which are nothing but slime and chaff, and they are the ones in danger.  Why?  Because the adults in the room, the pastors, leaders, prophets, etc. have chosen people pleasing, rather than God pleasing.  Note, they aren’t the ones in danger from the jaws of satan!  No it is the ones who are looking for Life, for a Word from off the Throne.  Those are the ones in danger from its death in that dream.

So, by this dream we are being warned by a Strong Word to Seek the Lord, to be a Word of Life, to step away from the lukewarm and to watch and pray for those who seek Truth”

Carelessness (Revised)

CARELESSNESS

(Revised)

“…But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink;
and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not”
AMOS 2:12

The road to apostasy is paved with carelessness, the watering down of true discipleship, and a refusal to hear the Word of the Lord. The calamities and judgments that followed such a prescription of “religion” are devastating and inevitable. Where the fear of the Lord no longer enters the mind of the people of God, His Holiness and Majesty is watered down to a God who no longer is concerned about righteousness and truth. Truth becomes a teaching rather than a life and righteousness is reduced to doctrinal position in the stead of a heart where the fire of God burns the dross of fallen humanity. Where the majority of the preaching today in its essence declares ‘The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil”.

“And it shall come to pass at that time
That I will search Jerusalem with lamps,
And punish the men who are settled in complacency,
who say in their heart,
The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil
Zephaniah 1:12

The result of the religion of men is to reduce God to an idea and a concept which portrays Him as one that neither rewards righteousness nor judges evil. While this is not said in so many words it is the premise of much of the presentation of the gospel in this hour. We tell the world that they need to repent but after having “accepted Him” there is a carelessness about how one lives. The complacency and apathy of the people of God in this hour is evident when we no longer expect from ourselves a life of true righteousness and those who are pursuing this life are told to “drink wine (compromise)” and in effect “don’t take this stuff too seriously”. We hear the expression that a man is so heavenly minded that he is no earthly good; in fact it should be stated that unless we become heavenly minded our lives are no earthly good!

May the Lord stir up the prophetic word in this hour to show the error, apostasy and the carelessness of His people. Let there be a WORD going forth in the FIRE of His love and jealously that this is the DAY OF THE LORD. THIS IS THE DAY TO TURN FROM OUR WAYS. It is not a day to live carelessly and walk in the love of the things of this world for the WORD OF THE LORD IS…

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him
I John 2:15

The focus of our life is the revelation of the love of our life. Our prayer life reveals the things that are dear to us. If all we pray for is our needs, wants and troubles, if the only things we hold up in prayer are those things that concern US and OUR little circle then we NEED to find Him afresh. We are here for the “building up of the Body of Christ”; to see the “Unity of the Faith” revealed IN THE EARTH! If the Risen Christ is ever “making intercession for US” that expression of love for others should also be a reality in our hearts.

NEGLECT

NEGLECT

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…”
Hebrews 2:3

When Jesus cried out on the cross “It is finished…” He was referring to the great price that was now paid to effect the reality of man being reconciled to God. The scripture declares that “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself.” Reconciliation is the beginning of a relationship, not the completion. How tragic and far reaching are the results of the “teachings” of this hour that declare “it is finished” in respect to our responsibility to the great salvation that has been so graciously and grievously given. Teachings that simply state if you believe right then you must BE right for truth is simply a matter of belief. Simply embrace this teaching, believe a certain doctrine and you are eternally fit for heaven. James declares that even the “demons believe and shudder”. This is a relationship that has been offered at the expense of great suffering and unimaginable pain and contradiction by the precious Lamb of God. Truly, “How shall we escape, if we neglect” such a great salvation?

The Greek Word translated here “neglect” is used six times in the New Testament. The truth of this statement declares emphatically that there is an effort and a responsibility entrusted to the people of God to be diligent and vigilant in their walk with the Almighty God. It is the same Greek word translated “made light” concerning the invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb in Matthew 22:5.

“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding:
and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying,
Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner:
my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
But they
made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm,
another to his merchandise”

Matthew 22:2 – 5

To make light of the call to come in this hour is to be a people who “… went their ways”.  This is neglect. When the truth and light of the Call of God does not alter our walk and cause us to forsake our ways then we are surely in the place of neglecting our salvation. If we are not in the place of obedience where the faith of God is producing a living sacrifice, where HIS LIFE is calling us out of our little sphere of comfort to launch out into the great cost of identification with HIM, this is neglect.

“It is no profit to have learned well, if you neglect to do well”
