Prayer: The Consolation of Life

“I give myself unto prayer”
Psalm 109:4

When fellowship is rare, and the burden burns within, there remains one blessed avenue:

“I give myself unto prayer”

He is the burden bearer. He is the one from whom the burdens originate; they are never ours alone. There is One who hears, One who discerns the truth of our own hearts, One who is our comfort amid a Day of divided hearts.

“The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see”
Habakkuk 1:1

Burdens that are of God come from seeing. They draw the heart and embrace the souls of those they are given to. These burdens of God take one past the deception of the Day, beyond the sight of men, and into the purposes of God.

The defining character of an individual will always be determined by what one sees, for what one sees is what one becomes. Pursuit is the revelation of the love that fills the heart. The unified heart is one in which the words and works are equal in the walk.

“The legs of the lame are not equal…”
Proverbs 26:7

Lameness is a spiritual condition in which there is a disjointedness between the confession and the walk.

“So speak ye, and so do”
James 2:12

“When fellowship is rare” … sad but true. The Lord IS our consolation! Good post.

Hello Cathy – I have been encouraged by the evident burden concerning those deceived in the catholic “faith” with you and Tom. To see through the deception and to speak out in love is quite rare these days. May He be glorified in all your endeavors!

Thank you for the comment they are appreciated.

  • Prayer rewarded is our omniscient Advocate, ceaselessly compassionate Intercessor, and perfect priest, Christ Jesus, ever living to make intercession for us and others before the Father of lights, of spirits and of glory, at His right hand, divinely, sublimely breathing through us no less than the wondrous will of the holy Trinity of infinity.

God-honored prayer originates from and is energized and empowered by the One Triune God, the sole source of all that is good, gracious, honourable, and effectual. Praying in the Spirit prays the heart of the Father and the mind of Christ in the pleasure and power of the Spirit of holiness and intercession.

By praying in the Spirit, I do not appertain exclusively to praying in a supernatural, unlearned, foreign language as per 1 Cor. 12 but also to our Creator creating, with us as His co-creators and prayer partners, His desired progress, joy and outcomes by praying through us. The exceeding advantage to praying by operating in the gift of 1 Cor. 12 is that the mind, with all of its preconceptions and misconceptions, as well-meaning as same may be, gets entirely out of the fallible way of The Way infallible Christ Jesus.

      • Thank you very kindly, blessed brother in our beautiful Beloved and Benefactor. Absolutely, I affirm, enjoy and am helped as much by the exercise of the excellence of your gift of written expression, graciously bestowed by the Living Word Who Is Love. (Jn. 1:1, 1 Jn. 4:8,16) Burning blessings of Jesus’ beauty in your being and every intimate blessing of affection from His holy heart as King of heaven.

The Way of Love 1 Cor.13 MSG
1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
2 If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

Everything in God is reduced to the one simple truth… “he that loveth not, knoweth not God…” It will take eternity to explore the wonders of His Love.
