What is Righteousness?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect,
throughly furnished unto all good works.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

“Without a full understanding of what righteousness really is, we remain in a vacuum in terms of our comprehension of God and His purposes, and are unable to properly relate with one another, in terms of ministry, or fellowship.

Love is God’s motive, whereas righteousness is His end, and when we begin to comprehend that, we begin to step into the place of realizing that, in our relationship with the body of Christ, love is the thing that presses us within to effectively minister, according to the gifts imparted to each of us by His Spirit. Faith is the means – the very conduit through which God’s love pours into us and is the divine enablement for us to respond to God, releasing His ability to effectively minister through us.

Therefore, the portion of Christ that we are, one to another, when purely motivated by His love for one another, faith being the means, it is to that end that the body of Christ becomes a pure expression of Christ’s righteousness

  • So many in the body of Christ believe that our “imputed” righteousness is is enough, and yes God sees us through the blood of Jesus, but how we need righteousness and the fear of the Lord operating in us. Truly, THAT’S what satisfies God and brings harmony, unity and order. Your post is an excellent and much needed aword Brian‼️🌟

Thank you for taking the time to listen… it is an unscripted bible study with a few people on Sundays. It means a lot.

      • I had only read your writing, and got extra blessed by listening to it now after reading your reply. Your teaching gift has “divine seasoning” in it making the food you serve very tasty and satisfying. I look forward to sitting at your “rich” table again.
Just a note Brian: I was slow to realize that the address you put on your site as a source of contact is a WordPress “internal” one used only within their domain. There may be others like me who attempted to unsuccessfully use it thinking that it was regular Email.

Thank you again… my web site has many issues and it is a continual issue to try and get things sorted out as I get many attacks on it as well.

  • Brian I understand better God’s calling and my own battles to become when I am willing to hear your admonitions, or God’s through you. Growing in Him is the process that we find ourselves in. Not always easy. Often wanting to go too fast. Thanks brother. Good word.

Nonbelievers want the fruit (righteousness) of our faith. Unless it’s actually there and visible, they do not want our words. They will ask when they want to hear. Our part is to be ready when asked as we live and grow in this faith walk with God. however that all goes out the window when the Spirit urges words upon them.

    • Brian T. says:

“And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name” Isa. 62:2

The righteousness that God is after is that which people can see. May He continue to work in us His wonder.

Appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

Blessings to you and your family
