Faithful Ones – Part Two

“Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, was the ruler of the house of God, and their brothers doing the work of the house…”
Nehemiah 12:10-11

The Word of the Lord is always careful to mention those who faithfully discharge their duties in His house. Many are careful to remain active and diligent in their devotion to the Lord, ministering to Him in their daily lives.

The “house” mentioned here is the House of the Lord, not some building or organization that concerns itself with its own agendas. There is but One Church, and those who minister unto Him know intuitively that His house is an organism comprised of blood-bought, blood-washed people. By Him we are being made One Blood.

“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
Hebrews 12:22-24 (ESV)

The Work of The House

Within God’s Church, there is constant movement as those who are “doing” the work of the House move within the sphere of His Spirit. They are ever seeking the welfare of others, not making allowances for stagnation, sluggishness, or slumber. The ministry of prayer and the Word brings energy to those who faithfully exercise themselves in the gifts and callings of God.

Abiding Places in His Temple

There are chambers (abiding places) set aside for those who minister in the Temple of God and for those who minister unto HIM.

“And he said to me, ‘This chamber that faces south
is for the priests who have charge of the temple.”
Ezekiel 40:45 (ESV)

“and the chamber that faces north is for the priests who have charge of the altar.
These are the sons of Zadok, who alone among the sons of Levi
may come near to the LORD to minister to Him.”
Ezekiel 40:46 (ESV)

These are precious places in Him for those who remain active and faithful in the House of the Lord.

“The one overcoming, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall not go out any more. And I will write the name of My God on him, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem which comes down out of Heaven from My God, and My new name.”
Revelation 3:12 (LITV)
