Meditative Moment
Truth and Freedom
“Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts”
Psalm 51:6
An individual is not free until the truth of God abides within the inner sanctum of the heart. It is truth in the heart which makes one free.
“And ye shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free”
John 8:32
Truth is the vehicle to freedom. This is not the worldly concept which seeks freedom for one’s self. God’s freedom is the freedom from self. It is a life lived out of the boundless wonder of God Himself; separated unto the mystery of being fully invested in serving Him.
“…as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness,
but as bondservants of God”
1 Peter 2:16
Truth, by necessity, is the womb of Love. Only as we become true in the “inward parts” are we capable of the freedom which God has promised to those who love Him. Obedience is the highest expression of love and worship; the apex at which we are free to serve God in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The journey into the light of God can only be known through the medium of doing. Truth, like the manna, must be eaten as it is given.
“But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest…”
John 3:21
Deeds are the evidence of those who are coming to the light.
