“I am but a little child:
I know not how to go out or come in…
Give Thy servant an understanding heart.”
1 Kings 3:7-9

Prayer with child-like faith will always touch the heart of The Father. He ever seeks the authentic cry from true child-like hearts. Such prayers contain no religious rhetoric or deep-sounding phrases and are bereft of human talents. The supplications offered in simplicity of heart and purity of purpose are the prayers to which He adds the incense of heaven (Revelation 8:3).

“Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:
for of such is the kingdom of God”
Luke 18:16

The true child of God is ever aware of His mercy. Our relationship with God is realized by dwelling in Christ, the only pure and humble Life that fully glorifies and honors the Father. He who is the fullness of humility and grace has come, and more importantly IS come, to dwell in our hearts by faith. He is the author of perfect, child-like prayers that arise to the Throne of Grace unhindered.

King Solomon’s beginnings exemplify the humility to which God is pleased to impart Christ’s wisdom and meekness. This singular quality of heart draws from Him the graces to live in the atmosphere of His favor.

“Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble:
Thou wilt prepare their heart,
Thou wilt cause thine ear to hear…”
Psalm 10:17

Effectual Prayers – Quietness

“Teach me. Lord, my true condition;
Bring me childlike to Thy knee;
Stripped of every low ambition.
Willing to be led by Thee.”

  • “The true child of God is ever aware of His mercy.”

    Yes! That any one of us, for even a millisecond, is possessed with authentic love from on high for our Creator is no less than absolutely unearned.

    Much of the time, it appears well nigh impossible for us to agree with our Father in heaven that our and others’ spiritual health, progress, and joy are colossally consequential to a simple, childlike willingness to REST in His sovereign control, in Himself, supremely reigning as no less than omnisciently prescient Love Almighty.

    Indeed, Mary chose the better part, and Jesus commended her for doing so. Childlike rest of submission and humility consistently manifest in the spiritual superscendence that is God-glorifying Christlikeness. Yielded to Christ incarnate in our individuality, being lived by His inimitable life shining through us, not we with His help trying to live our lives as we believe He would have us live, is the transcendent treasure, the everlasting triumph.

      So good to hear from you. I was beginning to wonder if you were not feeling well. Sorry for the late reply, I am out of the country for a few days.

      Blessings brother.

      • Thanks kindly, beloved brother Brian. Last week, I was again emergency airlifted from one hospital to another with cardiovascular conditions. Even though I remain pain-free and continue walking through the village a couple of miles a day, and using the several stone benches along the way, I so keenly want to go home to heaven not a moment later than our all-wise, all-loving, all-powerful Abba wants me to, with Him in the hallowed, happy highlands of heaven. To you and all your readers, ever-increasing intimacy of love communion with our Savior-King, the God-Man Christ Jesus, incomprehensibly more heartily beautiful than all of history’s sons of men and the grand sum of all creation, that is, and was and ever shall be! Alleluia!!!
