“Then answered Peter and said unto Him, Behold,
we have forsaken all, and followed Thee…”
Matthew 19:27

The Call and The Press

Discipleship is God’s call to an individual to “forsake” self and to “follow” Him. The unrelenting Call is strewn with brief places of rest and times of His comfort and care within its journey while the inspiration of His Spirit presses the heart to an ever-increasing fulness.

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.”
Philippians 3:12

The wonder of grace stirs a heart with such purpose that it cannot rest in a belief in God’s unfathomable truths without the need to apprehend them individually.

Poverty of spirit is the temper of a heart
that beholds His ever-unfolding fulness.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Blessed are they who are
stripped of everything, even of their own wills, that they may
no longer belong to themselves.”
Fenelon
