“And to make all men see
what is the fellowship of the mystery…”
Fellowship in the mystery is purely and simply a flow of faith; the life and substance of Christ communicated between those who walk and live in His Light. Fellowship is the evidence of walking in the Light of Christ.
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another…”
1 John 1:7
This precious wonder of fellowship is the revelation of that which is true in the Spirit. We all have acquaintances who call upon His Name, but the validity and depth of these things is evidenced by the flow of life. There is a vast difference between this and having just a cordial or familiar relationship with another in His Name. There is a fire and a mutual communication of His wonder between those with whom we find true fellowship.
“Deep calleth unto deep…”
The Heart Aflame
“O God, you are my God; I will seek you diligently.
My soul thirsts for you…”
The true pursuit of God is a proportional response to our seeing of Him. The diligent seeking of God in the life of David was a consequence of him seeing God in the sanctuary.
“Thus I have seen you in the sanctuary,
beholding your strength and glory”
The land wherein David dwelt became a howling wilderness in comparison to the beauty and the glory he beheld in the Holy Place of God.
“…My soul thirsts for you;
my flesh longs for you
as in a dry and weary land without water”
It is the seeing of the wonder of God that transforms one from being at home in this world into a pilgrim of faith; a sojourner with purpose and a captive of the hope which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. In beholding the Pearl of Great Price men and women are freed from the gravity and pull of this world. His beauty mesmerizes the beholder; it causes an abandonment of all other loves and creates its own quest and inertia. There can be no settling for the artificial and trite for the deep of God beckons His own with the simple cords of Love and Desire.
“Deep is calling to deep
at the thunder of your waterfalls…”
The depths of His being calls out to the Christ within. The tendrils of His love grip the soul in the embrace of God Himself. Only the Love of God in Christ Jesus can ignite our hearts into such a pursuit.
“Who, when he had found one pearl of great price,
went and sold all that he had, and bought it”
Thought for Today
The Nature of Love
God’s Love by its very nature is an active and creative power within the soul of man. Creation is proof of God ever seeking, ever desiring to expend and lavish His love in new dimensions. The Word declares that we were “created for His pleasure” and it is His pleasure to pour out Himself in unmeasured and unmerited means. His Love in us seeks, desires and ever works to color everything within its reach; not to own, rule or control but to inspire others to live fully in God.
The infinite and all-encompassing God whom our forefathers sought with passion calls us to depths unknowable and heights unsearchable.
“Deep calleth unto deep”
The Love of God is the call and His Love in man is the response.
“We love him, because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
“He said “Love…as I have loved you.”
We cannot love too much.”
