God’s Purpose in Giving Grace

For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8

We are called to be the light of the world. His Light reveals the hearts of men. His light dispels the works of darkness. His Life destroys the workings of despair that would beguile and tempt men and women into the throes of bitterness, sorrow, and death. Many die long before they stop breathing. There are lives all around us twisted and perverted by the wretchedness of sin, gift-wrapped in the illusion of temporary pleasure, hollow souls with vacant eyes, and empty hearts bound in the misery of addiction and hopelessness.

He came for such as these. He has invested Himself into our brokenness so that we may take the light of His Life to see the “works of the devil” destroyed in others. God’s answer is the power of Christ shining through redeemed souls, made whole by the same grace, now reaching out to others. May we see that the answer to our timidity, our reluctance, our apathy, and our fear is the fullness of God’s love ruling in our hearts.

Those who have God’s love give themselves first to Him, then to the world. The same God who loved the world to the point of giving His only begotten Son has also purposed for us to give of ourselves in and through that same Love moving in us.

“… as my Father hath sent me,
even so send I you”
John 20:21

“You will not stroll into Christlikeness with your hands in your pockets, shoving the door open with a careless shoulder. This is no hobby for one’s leisure moments, taken up at intervals when we have nothing much to do, and put down and forgotten when our life grows full and interesting… It takes all one’s strength, and all one’s heart, and all one’s mind, and all one’s soul, given freely and recklessly and without restraint.”

    Amen 🙏🤗

  • Beloved brother Brian, such grand, glorious grace by which you so graciously write, I am glad and grateful to remind us is the voluminously vivifying, luminously liberating grace that is the altogether unearned mercy and wholly undeserved favor of the God of all grace, goodness, and generosity.

The grace by which we are given of God to be ministers of His supernatural grace is no less than the dispensation of the peerless Presence of the Three Person One Divine that surpasses knowledge in totally trustworthy transcendent terms of dimensions, directions, dwellings, diversities, devotions, and divine dramas.

Yes, Deific dramas duly, quickening and quieting, stirring yet stilling, enabling while easing. This magnificently multifarious grace drama of infinite ingenuity is vivid, vital, emotional, and of most intense interest with astounding, far-reaching, and ages abiding, undiminished results of supreme satisfaction, conflicting, restricting the loveless works of the wicked one, who would have one and all unjustly, unfortunately, resist and reject the overtures and ownership of the One God Who is grace.

By the loving mercy and unmerited grace of our affectionate Abba, the Son of His love, and the Spirit of holiness, we have joined ourselves to this Selfsame One All-Glorious Triune God Who is loving grace,  having been made by Him in His image and being His faultless workmanship, Himself unfailingly working every detail of our lives and all history and transience of existence together for our good and His glory. We, as privileged partakers of His loving, gracious nature, by His rescue of redemption, His sure sanctification, His intimate intercession, His ardent advocacy, and His perfect priesthood, are one/One spirit/Spirit with the holy Trinity of loving Infinity.

In that, the One and the only true and living God is loving grace we exceedingly, eternally, richly revel and royally rejoice! Alleluia and Amen to the actuality of the Amen of Abba Almighty, our Amen, our inimitably, ineffably gracious Bridegroom-King Christ Jesus!

How often is the church in the busy-ness of serving without a full check as to their service first to Christ?

Without the investment of Christ we would have no hope or salvation, it equals our dis-investing when we do anything in the name of Christ without a full heart.

I recently heard about an organization that helps the Jews, but not with the gospel. The lack of gospel only helps the body, but their soul isn’t touched or fed. So is that organization really doing any good?

That’s what the church looks like without a full purpose first to Christ then to the people.

    Blessings brother.
