Faith and Love
The other night, just as I was about to close my eyes, the Lord spoke a phrase into my heart:
“Faith determines love’s reach.”
Tired, I reached for my phone to write down the words so I wouldn’t forget. They came with the sense that His faith within me shapes my vision of service to Him. The response to His promptings within is not reliant on my strength or abilities but on His grace to “live and move” in Him.
“For in Him we live, and move…”
Acts 17:28
The secret to this life is to live in the vast ocean of His Spirit. Faith ever presses us to extend the horizon of our confidence in Him; its reach can only be energized by the need to make Him known.
The Christian’s experience becomes an adventure when love’s press is accompanied by a growing faith to launch ourselves into His Will. His faith working in us determines the extent of our reach into the world.
“Launch out into the deep
and let down your nets for a catch.”

Fruitfulness follows the launch. Love is God’s call; faith is the true believer’s response.
“…so as far as lies in me,
I am eager to preach the gospel to you in Rome also.”
Romans 1:15 (ESV)
The ability to live in the wonder of His Will resides in a heart that lives in the joy of the Lord.
