“Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
try my reins and my heart.”
Psalm 26:2
The Question
Does He who walked
in His Father’s Will
Live and dwell
within you still?
Or has time passed,
while the fire faded
From a living flame
To something dim and jaded?
Our will no longer pressed
By His Heart beating in our breast?
As a ship without a sail
That never moves and always fails
To navigate by inspired motion
The vastness of His infinite ocean.
Have we fought
Against the slumber
Where the cares of life
Slowly encumber?
To lose our place
In the Faithful number
Who live by grace
And do His pleasure.
Arrayed in armor,
Unyielding in fight
Occupied doing
His works of Light.
Is thy will now being pressed,
By His Heart beating in thy breast?

The Eternal Question

continue ye in My love.”

Brian, I so love this, especially in light of this current season in time that I currently find myself. I’ve spent 3 weeks now, one of those in the hospital all recovering from a bout of pancreatitis, I’m told. Never had that before. But through all the pain and sometimes agony I have found the closeness of Christ even when faith waned during the actual pain. And during it all the kindness and encouragement of Gods people.
And I find your poem anointed. What has totally astounded me is this: I have made no posts during this time frame, yet the blog that God has called me to, He is blessing. The hits for the month of January are up almost 300%. I am totally amazed. So much so that I will just leave it in His hand until He gives me my next post.
Love you Brian, and love your faithfulness to our savior and to us.
Hello Jerry, so good to hear from you. I noticed that there was a lull in your posting. I was getting ready to send an email to see how you were doing.
I am grateful for the community of Christian bloggers and the privilege we have to share our portion. Convinced a day is coming when that will not be possible.
Blessings brother!

So right brother. It is coming: that time when we will be cut off from this world’s system, to which we do not belong anyway. Appreciate you brother.
And I you.

A very challenging self-inspecting poem Brian. Definitely a keeper to bring out and read introspectively and let the Lord have HIs say.
Hello Gary, appreciate the comment. Think of you and your family often.
