“In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses,

Horses in those days were part of the flow of everyday life; transportation and work. God’s intent is to bring us to the place that the common activities of our daily life are an expression of “Holiness unto the Lord”. What we are with our brothers and sisters as we gather unto the Lord, we are in the public work places of life and in the private times when no one else is around. Every activity and every secret of the heart has one desire and intent: “Holiness unto the Lord”.

The ministry of truth has but one end; to MAKE US TRUE. A true heart remains the same no matter what the surroundings are. It is not given to change for the purpose of “fitting in”, being approved by our peers, or the appearance of being “spiritual”. The revelation of the depth of TRUTH that we actually walk in happens by BEING TRUE to Him in every aspect of our life. It matters little what men may think of us or how they interpret our actions and words. It matters only that we live in such a way that we glorify HIM. Holiness unto the Lord means that we set aside our life, our desires and our pursuits for the purpose of DOING HIS WILL, REVEALING HIS HEART and WALKING IN HIS WAYS. This is not a life that can be known or experienced by our own strength. It is the fruit of the MINISTRATION OF TRUTH that pierces our hearts, that uncovers our nakedness, that purges us from the horror of our self-will and self-deception to bring us into the LOVE OF GOD.

declares the Lord there WILL BE such a people! Truth is more than words, more than print on a page. TRUTH is A POWER with only one purpose and that is to make us TRUE EXPRESSIONS OF HIM WHO ALONE IS TRUE.

“Herein is our love made perfect,
that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:
because as HE IS, SO ARE WE in this world”
1 JOHN 4; 17

“And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed BY the renewing of your mind…”

The depth and power of our salvation is realized to the degree that we are TRANSFORMED BY the renewing of our minds in Christ Jesus. This must be an ongoing operation of the Holy Spirit. In order for this work to continue there must be a conscious effort on our part to resist being conformed to the things (the tempers, lusts, pride, envies, jealousies, hatred, self advancement, backbiting, anger, and all of the other things that come in the many forms of temptation in our daily life) of THIS WORLD. The transformation process of the GRACE of God is to the end that we may PROVE what the will of God is for US AS INDIVIDUALS. Men who never seek God’s Will, will never find it. Men who never DO HIS WILL, will never know it. Men who walk after their own ways will never experience the RENEWAL of mind that is essential to the growth of proving and knowing HIS WILL. We, by nature, are at enmity with God; antagonistic to the knowing and the doing of HIS WILL. WE MUST BE TRANSFORMED and that is accomplished ONLY BY THE RENEWING OF OUR MINDS.

There is never a point of arrival; only an ever increasing understanding of the depth, the width, the height and the breadth of the LOVE and NATURE OF GOD! HE is ever beckoning us to “come up higher” to see HIS humility, HIS Glory, HIS Wonder and HIS MAJESTY. Even holy celestial beings in beholding HIM are left with only the words, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY…! How can we stop in our pursuit? How can we be content with the little we see, know and understand of all that HE IS? We cannot allow age, infirmity, disappointment or compromise to thwart our pursuit of KNOWING HIM.

Being TRANSFORMED is the eternal call to those who have touched the CRY of HIS HEART for relationship with man. Can we not hear the voice of the Lord God walking in the cool of the day crying out “Adam where are you….”? Have we not been gripped by this call? It is in hearing that CALL that we respond “by the mercies of God…” to present our lives unto HIM in such submission (living sacrifices) that we are no longer conformed to this world but we are transformed BY THE RENEWING of OUR MIND (how we see, interpret and understand HIS WILL) in the midst of this dark world. This is not an hour to grow weary or to settle for the status quo; it is an hour to press in with all diligence for HIS mercies to arise in our hearts to a greater submission. Only then will we BE ABLE TO PROVE THAT GOOD, ACCEPTABLE AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD. No teaching in and of itself can enable us to know the will of God in this way; without the accompanying ACT of the renewing of our minds it will simply produce the highest form deception possible. We need look no further than the scribes and Pharisees! The word Pharisee means “called out ones”. How frightening it is to start out well but to stop somewhere along the way! The purpose of being “called out” is that we may ENTER IN!

“Since therefore it remains that some must enter in,
and those to whom it was first preached
did not enter because of disobedience”

“Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is perishing,
yet the inward man is being RENEWED day by day”

“For if ye shall diligently keep
all these commandments which I command you,
to do them, to love the LORD your God,
to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you”
Deuteronomy 11:22 – 23

The enemies of our land are greater than we are, they are stronger and they are to be bread for us. The Gospel of the Kingdom is GOOD NEWS! It is about His strength, it is about His Life in us rising up to bring us to the completed victory of our Lord and Christ. It is HE who will drive out all the enemies of our own hearts and in the land where we dwell. However, it requires us to be diligent to keep and to DO HIS commandments. What are some of these commandments?

1. To love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, all of our souls and all of our strength
2. To love one another as HE has loved us
3. To keep ourselves from evil and to keep the way of life
4. To walk in all of His ways and to cleave unto Him

His commandments are not grievous; they are the doorway into HIS life. If we walk in all of HIS ways and cleave unto Him, “then will the LORD drive out” our enemies! For HE alone is our salvation and our life! Our victory is in HIM so let us arise again this hour to WILL and to DO of His good pleasure.

Let not our experiences determine our faith, but let our Faith determine our experience. This is the day to hold fast to that which we know to be true. Faith does not see what is, it sees God. Faith hears His Word and is not shaken by the dismal things which we now see. HE is coming back for a pure and lovely bride; people that reveal the pure love of God for one another. A church that is the radiant answer to the prayer of Jesus…

“That they all may be one; as thou,
Father, art in me, and I in thee,
that they also may be one in us: that the world may
believe that thou hast sent me”
John 17:21

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples
if ye have love one to another”
John 13:34

Do we really believe these things? Do we believe that the prayer of Jesus is to be answered in this world? Are we able to show that we are true disciples of Jesus Christ? If it does not start in us where will it start? For it will and must come to pass. If not in us, then it will be in the life of another; God’s word will not fail, nor will the prayer of Jesus remain unanswered.

“Let your hands be strong, you that hear in these days”

True hearing is paramount to faith. We live in a day of information overload; conferences, seminars, I Pod’s, and other multimedia resources that enable us to listen to the latest Christian messages over the internet… but to what end? There are many types of hearing but each of them will produce a different response.

There is a hearing with no understanding….

“…hearing they hear not, neither do they understand”

There is a hearing with no doing….

“But he who heard and did nothing
is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation,
against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell.
And the ruin of that house was great.”
LUKE 4:49

Then there is a hearing that produces FAITH revealed by doing …

“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them,
I will show you whom he is like:
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep
and laid the foundation on the rock.
And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house,
and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock”
LUKE 4:48 – 49

How a man hears determines the eternal issues of life. Since FAITH is the product of hearing, and our faith is revealed in what we do, what we pursue, and what we are, it is an hour for us to be asking HIM to search out our hearts and motivations. Unforgiveness, presumption, secret sins, pride, old wounds, envy, jealously and any other strongholds that keep us bound within, all hinder us from hearing and doing. Hearing is related to the condition of our hearts not our intellect.

“Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing…”

“And this shall come to pass
if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God”

There is a connection between the promise of a thing that is to come to pass and the people of God; “IF” denotes a personal choice within the heart of the people to whom the thing is promised. We want the promises; God desires willing and obedient hearts. We want the promises; God wants men who can govern, walk and abide in the promises. The obedience required for the promise to come to pass is in itself the WAY that the character of a man is developed to enable him to abide in the fulfillment of the thing promised. The promise of the Kingdom to David was followed by a life of obedience and rejection. The very things that may be difficult now are God’s WAY of preparing us for the call that HE has given. Many want the HIGH CALL but few there are that choose to walk in the humility and graces of the Son. To stand for HIS TRUTH, to cry out against the lukewarm expressions of this hour, to feel the impotency of this thing men call church, to long for that expression of HIS MAJESTY in our lives, and to be ready to forsake all things for the acquisition of the ONE THING, is LIFE. Humility is simply being free from the opinions of men, living a life free from self and self pity, and being always aware that NO FLESH will ever glory in HIS PRESENCE! Humility is the expression of a LIFE that is free from self will, self seeking and self protection. To whatever degree we know the wonder of this grace let us seek to see HIM more clearly and to love HIM more dearly.

Without obedience there can never be an entering in to all that HE has purposed for us. We fellowship and gather together that we may know HIS pre-eminence in our midst corporately so that we may walk it out individually.

Love ever serves the thing it loves.

Humility and Obedience cannot be separated for obedience IS the offspring of Humility.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross

Intercessors Arise!

It is a difficult hour in which we live as God is preparing to gather His people together again. In these trying times people have been scattered by the “horns of the gentiles” as spoken of in the book of Zechariah (Zech 1:18 – 21) There is a need to pray and seek the Lord to raise up the “craftsman” that Zechariah saw. This ministry will arise in the earth to undo the work of the four horns of the gentiles that has scattered the people of God. May the Lord put it upon your hearts to pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”; not natural Jerusalem which is of the earth, but that heavenly city that comes down from above crowned with the Glory and approval of the heavenly Bridegroom. Let us pray with all the passion within us to see this Body of Christ arise out of the shambles of man’s ways. Pray that the Lord would cleanse us from the selfishness of our hearts and that we would begin once again to walk in the passion of the Love of Jesus Christ. This is the only motivation that will bring forth a true ministry in the earth. May the Lord stoke the fires of your altars to do battle in the heavenlies as never before! Though you may feel out of sync with what is happening around you, rest assured, as you function in the ministry of intercession and prayer that you are in the very thick of the battle. Be encouraged to ‘press on in the purposes of God’, concerning the ministry that He has laid upon you. Even though with the natural eye you may behold chaos and disorder be assured that in the Spirit there are great things being accomplished. Remember Daniel who fasted and prayed for three weeks that God would arise; during those three weeks he saw nothing new. Yet when the angel of the Lord appeared he was given to understand the nature of the battle that had been waged in the spirit for those three weeks. We must not walk by sight but by faith and the understanding of God’s purposes. Pray that the Lord will ignite a new intensity in prayer that you have never known before. All of the ministries of God need prayer warriors in the body to enlarge their entrance into the precious things of God.

Remember also the word concerning Jael. She was faithful to the Lord and in the midst of all the battles taking place she slew the General of the enemies of Israel in her own living room. God will accomplish great things through His hidden warriors in the confines of their secret chambers. Be encouraged. Look unto the heavens and not on the things of the earth. May His Spirit birth within you a new sense of purpose in this day of preparation. Prior to every great move of His Spirit there has been a powerful ministration of intercession, prayer and praise unto our God.

May the Lord enable you to be a source of encouragement to others and be found with lamps burning as the midnight cry of the Bridegroom goes forth in an hour that many will miss.

“Turn you to the strong hold,
ye prisoners of hope”

Zechariah 9:12

A living HOPE produces a life of strength and stability. It is a power within the life of the individual who has been captivated by its beauty. In the book of Hebrews it is described as “an anchor for the soul”. It is more than a theoretical concept; it is an ANCHOR that holds us in the storms of life. It is a light that shines in our darkness and gives us the ability to stand in this day of obscurity. Without Faith, Hope is dead. Faith is the SUBSTANCE of the thing for which we hope. Faith has within itself the evidence of all that we hope for. This living Hope will not leave us destitute in some poverty stricken state for we are confident that…

Hope also has the power to produce a righteous life and a purified heart.

“And every man that hath this hope IN him purifieth himself,
even as he is pure”

1 JOHN 3:3

We are to be people whose lives are captivated by the beauty of our Risen Christ. The HOPE we have in HIM, whereby we know that HE is able to subdue all things under His Feet, takes us from the corruption of the Old Adam into the perfections of the New. This HOPE is to be ours to such a degree that we are purified “even as HE is pure”! The reality of our HOPE is revealed in a life where our motives are freed from selfish gain; we do things because they are right and not for the sake of being seen by others. Our actions are scrutinized by the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Truth MUST produce true expressions within the lives of those who are exercised by it.

Let us HOLD FAST to the power of that living HOPE that we may stand in this evil day, unashamed, undeterred in our pursuit of HIS KINGDOM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. For our hope is based on the RESURRECTION LIFE of JESUS.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope BY the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

1 PETER 1:3

“Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments
which I command you this day, that ye may be strong,
and go in and possess the land”

Deuteronomy 11:8

Spiritual strength is the fruit of obedience. Our beliefs, doctrines and knowledge will not produce the kind of strength that is required to rise up, go in and possess the land of promise. It requires a doing that is the result of seeing and hearing. If we are not doers of the word, but remain hearers only, there is a deception that slowly and inexorably clouds our hearts and minds from the seeing of HIM.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves…”

James 1:22

Paul exhorts us to “exercise thyself rather unto Godliness” (I Timothy 4:7). The trust that is placed in teachings and Christian theology, without the “reality” of His Life in us through the medium of doing, is in itself a deception. Goliath stood and taunted Israel for forty days! No man would respond to his challenge because there was no one in Saul’s army “experienced” in the victory that can only be had by walking with God. David’s faith however, had been proven (the Lion & the Bear) and tried and those experiences enabled him to rise up and defeat Goliath.

“And herein do I exercise myself,
to have always a conscience void of offence toward God,
and toward men”

Acts 24:16

Let us consider the ramifications in this day of division and strife within the Body of Christ (singular). What if we were to commit to walk in such a way that we maintain a clear conscience before God and men? What if we actually took action to exercise ourselves in forgiveness and genuine concern for the people of God around us? What would happen if, in seeing God’s heart, we would begin to consider the things of others as more important than our own? Let us begin afresh to be exercised by the Love of God unto Godliness in the affairs of this life.

Doing is the path to becoming

“Christianity is not a voice in the wilderness, but a life in the world. It is not an idea in the air but feet on the ground going God’s way. It is not an exotic to be kept under glass, but a hardy plant to bear twelve months of fruits in all kinds of weather. Fidelity to duty is its root and branch. Nothing we can say to the Lord, no calling Him by great or dear names, can take the place of the plain doing of His will. We may cry out about the beauty of eating bread with Him in His kingdom, but it is wasted breath and a rootless hope unless we plow and plant in His kingdom here and now. To remember Him at His table and to forget Him at ours, is to have invested in bad securities. There is no substitute for plain, every-day goodness”
Maltbie Davenport (Mattie D) Babcock

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; NOW it shall spring forth”

ISAIAH 43:18 – 19

It is the nature of the true living Faith within a man to ever press upon the individual the desire to be and do whatever it sees the SON DOING. Growth is the revelation of a man’s faith. A man who ceases to grow has ceased to LIVE. Change is the evidence of GROWTH; things that sustained us years ago will be insufficient for today. The Bronze Serpent that was at one time a means of healing had to be destroyed years later for it became an IDOL unto the people of God. The manna that sustained the people of God for forty years in the wilderness had to give way to the provisions of the NEW LAND that was to be conquered by a NEW and living FAITH. The FAITH required to cross the Red Sea that opened BEFORE the children of Israel crossed must now develop to the point of stepping INTO the River Jordan BEFORE it parts. It is now a FAITH that must be exercised before the power of God is released. While much of the religious world spends time discussing doctrines, beliefs and concepts there are those who have a passion to WALK, DO and BECOME expressions of a FAITH that is not their own; a faith that has purpose, substance and is costly. This rare and precious FAITH has only one purpose and that is to please and obey its AUTHOR. In the life of a Christian faith is not an option it is a necessity!

“Without Faith it is impossible to please God”

Faith is the only means by which we can please God. Faith is not a belief, a teaching or a doctrinal statement; it is A LIFE. Faith that does not produce a life within the believer that has substance, character and reality is DEAD. The faith that was required to “accept Jesus” many years ago must GROW to sustain our walk with him. His will must rule and reign in our hearts. We fellowship and interact with the people of God that we may grow and develop our life in Him. We challenge, exhort, comfort and admonish one another to excel at loving Him thereby becoming expressions of HIM in these dark days in which we live.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world:
and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith”

I JOHN 5:4

“For there shall be a day,
that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry,
Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God”

It is the time to ARISE. It is the time to hear and speak that Word of ARISING and GOING UP to Zion. We are not talking about a geographical location in the Middle East; we are talking about the TRUE and HEAVENLY ZION; The City of the Living God.

“But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God,
the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn,
which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all,
and to the spirits of just men made perfect”

This is the time to seek heavenly things, to set our affections on the things above, and to seek the welfare of the people of God by the speaking and doing of TRUTH; to put away the carnality and strife of the religious divisions that promote men’s agendas, kingdoms and teachings. Let us repent (turn away from) glorying in men’s ministries, organizations, and ways and return to the singularity of HIS Lordship. His Ways and His Life are the only basis of true and powerful fellowship. The simplicity of the Love of God being shed abroad in our hearts BY the Holy Spirit requires a LIFE that is LIVED IN the Holy Spirit. Unity is never to be found in the compromising of TRUTH but in the MINISTRATION OF TRUTH. The purpose of the five-fold ministry in the Church is to be for the PERFECTING of the people of God; an EQUIPPING of the people of God for their own unique and powerful ministrations of the SON. This brings the people of GOD unto the UNITY OF THE FAITH.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets,
some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ,
till we all come to the unity of the faith
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”

EPHESIANS 4:11 – 13

“Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here:
if thou wilt, let us BUILD here three tabernacles;
one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias”

Peter got caught up in the moment of seeing the great ministrations of Israel’s past. In so doing he responded with the innate heart of the natural man to “build”. Let us take note that Peter was rebuked by the God of ALL GLORY who said “THIS IS MY SON, HEAR HIM….” When Peter looked up he “SAW NO MAN, EXCEPT JESUS”!

We MUST understand that all true ministry is given that “WE MAY SEE JESUS”. This is what we have been called to; this is the HEAVENLY CITY, for it is the CITY OF GOD! Notice the words of the prophet….

“Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God

To ARISE and to go up to ZION is to arise and go UNTO THE LORD OUR GOD! Zion is wherever HE IS!
