“In the beginning God…”

GENESIS 1:1

This is an eternal statement not an historical one. God is Eternal and because of that HE is the ever beginning one, the eternal Spring ever at work “making all things NEW”. From Genesis to the Book of Revelation we read of NEW THINGS, NEW PROVISIONS, NEW MOVINGS OF HIS SPIRIT and the ever progressive REVELATIONS of NEW glimpses of HIS GLORY. We see in the Old Testament a God who is constantly bringing forth fresh ministrations of life and new and greater ways of approaching Him. We see the provisions of the garments of redemption for Adam and Eve; we see the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We see the Tabernacle and the Temple and the various prophetic expressions of Samuel, Elijah, and Elisha. We hear the voices of the multitudes of the prophets that God raised up to speak His purposes; while all these things were “new” in their Day the progressive purpose of God moves on while men cling to former things. The Feasts and all the other types and shadows of the Old Testament are meant to speak to us of greater things and a greater fulfillment that God had in mind. Jesus sums it all up in one verse…

“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life;
and these are they which testify of Me”
JOHN 5:39

(HE is the center and sum of all God’s purposes. The Government of God rests upon HIS shoulders {Isaiah 9:6}; He is the GREAT HIGH PRIEST and in the offering of HIMSELF at Calvary HE abolished all offerings in regards to sin {Hebrews 10:18}. Blessed be the name of the Lord!)

“In the beginning God…”

It is in our entering into these things that we are made new; in the appropriating of HIS TRUTH that we touch upon the NEW THING for ourselves. The beginning of that truth in our own lives is the start of a new walk and a new expression of the eternal truth.

“…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world”
REVELATION 13:8

Jesus the precious Lamb of God, in the ETERNAL purposes of God, was a “lamb slain from the foundation of the world”. However, all eternal truth must become a reality here. We read “that when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth HIS Son…” (Gal. 4.4). The eternal truth must become the actual truth HERE and be appropriated into my life through the mediums of faith and obedience. Thus begins my journey of the truth of HIS life in me.

On the Day of Pentecost Peter declared “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel”. That prophetic word spoke of the “Baptism of the Holy Ghost” hundreds of years before it happened. It was the beginning of a NEW DAY for the people of God. It was God beginning a NEW and powerful expression of Himself on the Day of Pentecost! A feast had been celebrated and observed by the children of Israel for thousands of years yet the day came that the intent and purpose of God became a deeper and more profound truth. While men still look for the old, God’s Spirit is always pressing us to leave the former things and step into the reality of the “present” truth. The real purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not just so we may manifest a wonderful and precious gift of the Holy Spirit but that we would become a people who would walk, live and reveal the righteousness of God in our daily lives. It is to be much more than just giftings and ministrations but that it would unite us to the Cry of the Son in the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the earth.

Those who have the “firstfruits of the Spirit” know of this groaning and of this CRY for the things that remain unfulfilled.

“For we know that the whole creation
groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope;
for why does one still hope for what he sees?
But if we hope for what we do not see,
we eagerly wait for it with perseverance”
ROMANS 8:22 – 25

By virtue of Him being in our hearts we have become partakers of that same burden to see the full expression of His Salvation in this earth.

“Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully,
who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
searching what, or what manner of time,
the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating
when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ
and the glories that would follow.
To them it was revealed that, not to themselves,
but to us they were ministering the things
which now have been reported to you
through those who have preached the gospel
to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven”
I PETER 1:10 – -12
