ABIDE

“And now, little children, abide in Him…”
1JOHN 2:28

The ability of a branch to produce fruit is not resident within the branch itself, but by its attachment to the vine. The branch simply must draw life from the vine. Faith is the connection; it is the only medium through which His precious life and power flow. All the goodness and mercies of our God are bound up within the wonder of a living faith. Faith is the victory (1John 5:4), Faith is the means by which we live (Habakkuk 2:4), Faith is the means by which we are Justified (Romans 5:1), Faith is the means by which we walk in this world (2Corinthians 5:7), Faith is the means by which we please God (Hebrews 11:6), and Faith is the means by which we live an obedient and overcoming life (Hebrews 11:33).

That is why we are exhorted…

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith”
JUDE 1:20

Holy Faith, Living Faith, is the cornerstone of a life that lives, and MOVES and has its very being within the Son. Let us today Abide in Him!

It is one of my many desires, to have faith as even a mustard seed. He has done so much in my life. Yet I find myself void of faith in instances of my walk that still surprise me. How is it possible to read His word and still doubt that He has meant every promise to be for all His people. How can I look on all that He has done and is doing in my life and still fall to sin? Why is it that I can look at creation and be filled with wonder, awe and praise and still have things in my life that are a comfort that I would find hard to let go. I want this faith that says to the mountains before me move, so that I may see Him clearly and not have to do another lap around it. I long for the time that I may walk on the waters of life and not worry about the waves of worry that cause me to sink back into the sea of doubt and despair. Where is that company of people that want to exhort and lift eachother up to new heights of faith. Must we have such a desperation for our Captain that we would cross over even at floodtime to have that fellowship that produces those mighty acts of God through us. May God make me so desperate, so hungry, so thirsty that all else would be seen as the hindrances that they are. I do believe, Jesus help me overcome my unbelief.
